Children's

Friends

Charity

Project

The spread of COVID-19 has resulted in a large number of infected children and adults. Infections in young children are on the rise and are particularly difficult to handle, requiring special quarantine or treatment. In addition to having to be separated from parents, they also have to face changing environments such as locations, personnel, and daily routines; placing them outside their secured and comfort zone.

Kru Sai, teacher and art therapist, together with Arcadia team, have created 'Children's Friend Charity' project to help frontline medical personnel and children infected with COVID-19. This project aims to help relevant parties organize their daily routines through storytelling, breathing exercise and art activities, with the main focus of providing companionship to children during the 14-days quarantine stay to ease their difficult transition.

As of August 2021, Arcadia team has already made 500 art sets for young children, each containing: Color pencil or crayon set for young children (washable) and Coloring story book

Face Shield Project

In April 2020, there was an early outbreak of COVID-19 in Thailand, scarce of masks and face shields, schools and shops were closed. Arcadia Academy initiated the Face Shield Charity Project “Palang lek-lek” to support health safety of Frontline Healthcare Workers. We raised funds for face shield materials and  passed on to parents and children interested in making Face Shield at home.  Then send them to healthcare workers, both Bangkok and metropolitan hospitals.

In addition, we have created a video of the procedure for making face shields with children, explaining the procedures, techniques and benefits of making Face Shield, including developing EF, developing small muscles. It also encourages children to wear custom-made Face Shield masks to protect themselves from COVID-19.
